Vietnamese police confiscated around 345,000 used condoms that had been washed, cleaned and prepared for resale just like us, local media reported, according to The Guardian.
Vientam State Television featured images of dozens of large bags containing used condoms. The bags were found in a warehouse in Binh Duong province, in the south of the country.
Police say the bags weighed more than 360 kg, which would mean there were around 345,000 condoms in them.
The store owner says he received several quantities of used condoms each month from an anonymous person.
One woman, who was detained by police, said used condoms were first boiled, then dried and reshaped with a wooden phallus, after which they were packed up to be put up for sale again.
The detained woman said she received 17 cents for every kilogram of condom she recycled.
It is not known exactly how many “second hand” condoms have already been sold.
