The problem of the way it is built in Bucharest could not be absent in the fiery debate organized by DC News with the candidates for Mayor of Sector 1: Adriana Bahmuţeanu, Daniel Tudorache and Dan Bucura.
Here’s what the three of them had to say about the “property sharks” in Bucharest:
Dan Bucura: It is a non-existent order in terms of real estate. It was a motto that I guess I take, you just have to sue me for plagiarism: ‘Stop the real estate sharks!’ I want to stop the real estate sharks; Those scoundrels who take over a piece of land in an area where they only have houses around and instead of building buildings of only one or two stories, as far as the law allows, go and do GF + 5, GF + 7, Gf + 9 and creates chaos even in terms of traffic. (…) Take Spring, for example, where all the golanes built Gf + 5, Gf + 7 and only have -1 in the basement, if they have both. All those cars are parked on the street. (…) I tell them that I do not sign a building permit at the risk of being sued if not all prove to me that they have at least one parking space for each underground apartment.
Adriana Bahmuţeanu: I subscribe to what Dan Bucura said. We need clean real estate investments in Sector 1 and I, because I am liberal, I have a project, because in Bucharest there are no skyscrapers and I thought of building a district of skyscrapers in Sector 1. For example in On the Siseşti – Târgovişte road these could exist ‘real estate sharks’, the big real estate investment groups that focus on that area and build these skyscrapers, to have the pride of Bucharest in Sector 1, the first real skyscraper blocks.
Dan Tudorache: Indeed, until 2016 this happened in the Bucureştii Noi area, Chitila, underground parking lots were built, those parking lots were not sold, they were transformed after the reception into apartments or studios, those who had cars left them on the street and that traffic jam it is created automatically. As for the spring, it is a protected area and the authorizations are granted by the City Council of the capital as in the area of New Bucharest. There were the first problems with the blocks between houses. Some scammers seized his land, went to the Capital City Hall, modified the PUZ, automatically gave him the right to build, to have more floors, and those blocks appeared between the houses. If he had the PUZ approved and you, as mayor, did not give him authorization, he would file a criminal complaint against you with DNA, abuse of power and suspend your DNA from office. It is difficult to oppose a human right that you have obtained in various ways, to say the least.
