According to Pressone, the Minister of Education, Mónica Anisie, signed this Friday the orders to withdraw the accreditations of the two doctoral schools of the Police Academy – Law and Public Order and National Security – at the proposal of the University Ethics and Management Council .
The cited source also shows that the decision by which the “factory” of doctorates of the Police Academy closes is historical, being for the first time when a control organ of the Ministry of Education, more precisely the Council of Ethics and Management University (CEMU), proposes withdrawal of the accreditation of some doctoral schools, the reason is “serious and repeated violation of the standards of quality and professional ethics.”
The same source also shows that this is the first time that the Ministry of Education has applied a sanction of this type, the harshest that can be taken against a doctoral school.
Since 1995, the Police Academy has awarded 683 doctoral degrees.
