Prime Minister Ludovic Orban has announced that he intends to find a solution to hire all doctors who will pass the residency exam this year. According to him, such a measure is absolutely necessary given that there is a problem with the number of medical personnel involved in the fight against COVID-19.
The prime minister said that at this time the medical system is confused with the lack of human resources, given that there is enough equipment and medical devices to cope with the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus.
“It is an important moment that we cannot miss. It is the examination of those who have completed the residency and there we intend to find a solution to hire all those who have completed the residency and have taken the exam, to enter this combat device , because that would provide us with additional medical personnel that we need air, because, I repeat, we have no problems with the beds, with all that means devices: injectors, fans, “Prime Minister Ludovic Orban declared on a television program.
Ludovic Orban pointed out that lately many detachments have been used to cover the needs of some hospitals. The prime minister stressed that to ensure the functionality of the health system, an additional number of medical staff is needed, as employees are currently unable to cope with the new wave of infections.
“Certainly this team exists, it is beyond its capacity. Rather, the limitation comes from the ability to mobilize enough staff to maintain functionality. We still have ATI wards that are not working at full capacity, they are also in experienced COVID hospitals, because they do not have enough staff to attend to the extra beds, ”said Ludovic Orban.
The prime minister added that, in terms of the number of beds for patients who have contacted COVID-19, public health departments have asked non-COVID hospitals to create separate wards and circuits where those infected with the new coronavirus can be treated.
