5,498 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported by GCS in the last 24 hours, of more than 37,000 tests performed, PCR and rapid. During the same period, 154 Romanians died after being infected with coronavirus. There are 1,448 hospitalized patients in ATI.

To date, on April 3, in Romania, 970,224 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 867,663 patients were declared cured.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 5,498 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

The coefficient of accumulated infections at 14 days, reported per 1,000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Public Health Directorates, at the municipal and county levels of Bucharest. Below is the table prepared based on the reports received by CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:

Aside from the recently confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 1,364 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 23,973 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 02.04.2021 (10:00) – 03.04.2021 (10:00) 154 deaths were reported (79 men and 75 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Vasceau, Meheduiș, Suceau, Mihedinu, Siceau, Miheduiș Vâlcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 14 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 39 deaths in the age category of age 60 to 69 years, 60 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 37 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

148 of the deaths registered were of patients who had comorbidities, 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for 2 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 13,409. Of these, 1,448 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 6,800,572 RT-PCR tests and 636,855 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 26,709 RT-PCR tests were performed (14,218 according to case definition and medical protocol and 12,491 on request) and 10,634 rapid antigen tests.

In Romania, 67,560 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 16,271 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 48,327 people are in home quarantine and 95 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 4,828 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 567 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on April 2, 6,259 sanctions for minor offenses, in the amount of 1,355,210 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 12 criminal cases were processed to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 23,497 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2,542 in Italy, 16,773 in Spain, 195 in the United Kingdom, 125 in France, 3,118 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 5 in the US, 8 in Sweden, 137 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 46 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 7 in Bulgaria, 13 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 5 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 13 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 3 in Singapore, 3 in Tunisia, 8 in the Republic of Korea, 2 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2 in Serbia and one in Argentina, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, the Russian Federation and Croatia.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 189 Romanian citizens abroad, 34 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 60 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, 3 in Sweden, 5 have died in Ireland, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Austria, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo, one in Greece and one in Iran.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.
