In the past 24 hours, there were 1,591 new COVID-19 cases out of 6,537 tests performed. Another 45 Romanians have died due to coronavirus infections and 592 patients are hospitalized for intensive care. The positive rate in the last 24 hours is 24.33%.

To date, on October 5, in Romania, 137,491 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

108,526 patients were declared cured.

After tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1,591 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 249 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 5,048 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 04.10.2020 (10:00) – 05.10.2020 (10:00) 45 deaths (27 men and 18 women) were reported, of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Brăila, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj, Sibiu, Timiș, Tulcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age group 40 to 49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 18 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 20 deaths in the age category of more than 80 years. .

42 of the registered deaths were of some patients who presented comorbidities and 3 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 8,001. Of these, 592 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 2,516,746 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 6,537 were performed in the last 24 hours, 4,454 based on case definition and medical protocol and 2,083 on request.

In the Romanian territory, 11,283 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 7,629 people are in institutionalized isolation. Additionally, 23,014 people are in home quarantine and 28 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 1,059 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 2,630 penalties for minor offenses, for a value of 394,473 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 2 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified matters.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,702 Romanian citizens were infected by COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 120 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 7 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 7 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 733 were declared cured: 613 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
