In the last 24 hours, 4,931 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, of the 11,266 tests carried out. Another 149 Romanians died after being infected with coronavirus. 1,187 COVID patients are hospitalized in intensive care.

To date, on November 16, in Romania, 365,212 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

246,633 patients were declared cured.

Following tests conducted at the national level, compared to the last report, 4,931 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

To date, 9,075 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

According to the data reported by the authorities, the county of Sibiu approaches a rate of 9 infections per thousand inhabitants.

Between 15.11.2020 (10:00) – 16.11.2020 (10:00) 149 deaths were reported (86 men and 63 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Meurehohedinți, Timibiușu Marecea, Vâceava Sâceava, Timibiu Mareu Marecea , Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 4 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 7 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 36 deaths in the age category age 60 to 69 years, 50 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 51 deaths in the category over 80 years.

141 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 5 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for 3 patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 13,467. Of these, 1,187 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 3,702,328 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 11,266 were performed in the last 24 hours, 7,499 based on case definition and medical protocol and 3,767 upon request.

In Romania, 47,397 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 13,229 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 80,152 people are in home quarantine and 17 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 3,522 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on November 15 of this year, 9,930 penalties for minor infractions, worth 1,988,595 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, 7 crimes were found yesterday to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,862 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,934 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 3,018 in Germany, 167 in the Kingdom United, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 8 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece, 9 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Qatar , Vatican, Portugal and Egypt.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Among Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 797 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
