Thus, from the beginning of October, when they go to the doctor, patients must present, again, the health card, after, in May, they had been exempted from its use. However, for remote consultations granted by family doctors and outpatient specialists, it will not be necessary to present the card until the end of this year, says the latest statement from the National Health Insurance House.

As established by GEO 162/2020, at the end of the year, “distance medical consultations that are provided in primary care and outpatient clinics of clinical specialties, including the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation, are granted and validated without the need for use the national health social insurance card or its substitute documents ”.

This means that in the case of other inquiries, respectively those granted in the office, it is necessary to present the health card, which was also confirmed by the CNAS, through a statement published on Monday.

Specifically, as Adela Cojan, president of CNAS, said, “[r]We introduce the use of the health card in all situations in which the patient physically travels to the medical unit to receive medical services, have the most accurate records and manage funds in the system in the most efficient way possible ”.

According to the CNAS president, remote consultations remain a good alternative to office consultations, for both patients and doctors, in the context of the coronavirus epidemic.

Also by GEO 162/2020, the validity of several medical documents was extended until the end of the year, namely:
referral tickets for clinical specialties, including physical and rehabilitation medicine;
reference tickets for paraclinical specialties;
medical recommendations and approval decisions for the procurement of medical devices, assistive devices and technologies.

In essence, GEO 162/2020 provides for the extension of the applicability of some measures in the field of health, established by GEO no. 70/2020 on the regulation of certain measures, as of May 15, 2020, in the context of the epidemiological situation determined by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, says the cited source.
