A head of service within the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Timiş, was arrested this Monday by DNA prosecutors for accepting bribes, being accused of receiving money from about 100 people to issue false certificates of disability, reports Agerpres .
According to a statement from DNA, in the period 2015-2020, in the exercise of the position of head of the Evidence Service for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities within the DGASP Timiş, L.-LLA allegedly demanded and received from several people, Through intermediaries, sums of money as a bribe, in order to carry out the necessary procedures to obtain the disability allowance, based on false documents, and the interested parties cannot benefit from these rights.
During the investigation, approximately 100 people have been identified so far, for whom, for amounts of money between 2,000 – 5,000 euros per person, L.-LLA would have made it easier to obtain the disability benefit.
Specifically, on October 4, 2020, L.-LLA would have received, from an intermediary, 1,600 euros and food products, which represents a part of the total amount that should have been received for the preparation of the grade classification procedures. disability for two people.
On November 8, 2020, L.-LLA received, through another intermediary, the amounts of 2,000 euros and 1,900 lei, for the preparation of the qualification procedures of a person living in another region as a disability, a circumstance in which that the prosecutors proceeded to establish flagrante delicto.
In this case, acts of criminal prosecution are also carried out against other people who have fulfilled the role of bribery intermediaries.
Likewise, on November 8, 2020, two activities were carried out to clarify the flagrant crime regarding the moment in which two of the intermediaries of suspect L.-LLA received sums of money and documents to send them.
“The unfair obtaining of disability certificates, in the way described above, has become notorious, which is why people from other counties have temporarily established their residence in Timiş County, to obtain such a certificate (for example, from the counties of Caraş-Severin, Hunedoara, Bistriţa Năsăud)., the estimated damage brought to the state budget is more than 2,000,000 lei / year, ”prosecutors also say.
It also turned out that, as of March 2020 (during the state of emergency and alertness), people who had illegally obtained disability certificates would have reported to the municipalities of residence (from Timiş, Caraş-Severin, Hunedoara, Bistriţa Năsăud) the necessary documentation to obtain the facilities granted to prevent and combat infection by the SARS-CoV2 virus.
L.-LLA will present himself to the Timiş Court with a proposal for preventive detention for 30 days.
In this case, acts of criminal prosecution are also carried out against other persons, accomplices of L.-LLA, who fulfilled the role of bribery intermediaries between him and the persons seeking to obtain disability benefits.
Prosecutors were supported by the Directorate of Special Operations, IPJ Timiş and the Directorate General Anticorruption.
