He would have the same, even greater power to negotiate laws and set the agenda, as Dragnea acted

Negotiations have begun for the formation of the new government and the occupation of the main political positions, but the first data indicate that PNL and USR-PLUS have totally different positions.

PNL, party that lost the elections, but is the main party of the right-wing ruling coalition (PNL, USR-PLUS Alliance and UDMR, claim the position of prime minister), but also that of president of the Chamber of Deputies, the third official position in the state.

Orban, who resigned as prime minister after a poor electoral result, wants to take over as president of the Chamber of Deputies, from where he can negotiate the legislative agenda and even positions in the state apparatus. The future parliament has several important laws to discuss, starting with the exploitation of gas from the Black Sea, the privatization of state-owned companies and even the auction of 5G.

In the PSD government, Liviu Dragnea controlled everything that moves as president of the Chamber of Deputies and as president of the party, the position of prime minister reaches second place.

For Romania, it would be best for Brussels to come and make our government

Orban pushed Florin Cîţu to the post of prime minister, to cut off the path of President Klaus Iohannis, who was following in the footsteps of General Nicolae Ciuca, the Defense Minister, but remains in power if he succeeds in assuming the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies . .

The USR-PLUS alliance, which also achieved a below-expectations result in the parliamentary elections, does not trust Orban and claims that if the NLP yields to the prime minister, then the post of president of the Chamber of Deputies should belong to Dan Barna, co-Leader USR-PLUS.

Or, if Orban doesn’t give up his claims, the USR-PLUS alliance wants the prime minister job from Dacian Cioloş, the other co-chair of the alliance.

Both Orban and Barna were chosen.

The position of president of the Senate, the second in the state after the president, is not as important from the point of view of political power, as Tariceanu was in the PSD government.

If Orban loses the position of president of the Chamber of Deputies, he may also lose the position of president of the PNL, because he has nothing to share, as Liviu Dragnea did.

The right-wing government, which President Iohannis is trying to put into practice, will be born extremely difficult, because no party or political leader wants to lose its power or electorally pay the cost of this crisis.

This is also seen in the fact that nobody really wants to be a minister of education, health, labor or culture, positions that have a very high public impact and are extremely criticized.

The right-wing coalition, but especially the PNL and the USR-PLUS alliance, will live very hard together, since they don’t love each other so much.

The government program is just an asterisk in the negotiations of the new right-wing coalition.
