The 43-year-old coach told Digi Sport Special how he missed the opportunity of a lifetime, considering the money he could receive.

The episode Stoican talks about happened at the end of the 2013-2014 season, when Dinamo finished in an unexpected fourth place, and the title was taken by FCSB.
Dynamo, three seasons in a row that doesn’t catch the playoffs
Then came the 2014-2015 season, in which the team’s financial woes left their mark on performance on the field, and the “dogs” finished in seventh place. Then, Dinamo was very close to the title in the 2015-2016 season, when he fought against Astra.
4 nightmare seasons followed: 6th place in 2016-2017, and then eighth place in 2017-2018, the first season in which Dinamo did not qualify for the playoffs. They also didn’t make the playoffs last season, ranking eighth, and last season they finished ninth.
Now, even though League 1 has ended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Dinamo is 3 points away. It is obviously the weakest season in the club’s history.
- Flavio Stoicano trained Dinamo twice: September 23, 2013 – November 12, 2014 and March 12, 2015 – May 6, 2015. He also had two terms in the second team of “dogs,” from where he was promoted to the first team.
- In his coaching career, Stoican trained Dinamo 2 (in two terms), Chindia Targoviste, CS Mioveni, Dinamo (in two terms), FC Voluntari, Zimbru Chisinau, Pandurii, Poli Iasi and Petrolul.
