A great scandal overshadows the result of the local elections in Bucharest. After Clotilde Armand called the police at the Sector 1 City Hall, for an alleged attempt to defraud the elections by the representatives of the PSD, PNL and USR-PLUS, they also came with accusations of vote theft. The two political parties claim that their votes in the polling station records were passed to other parties on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority. Marcel Ciolacu, president of the PSD, calls the accusations of fraud “nonsense” and says that the party filed a complaint with the Central Electoral Office to count the votes.
Clotilde Armand reported on Monday evening, in Digi24, the episode with the pile of records of the District Electoral Office, which were discovered at the headquarters of the Mayor’s Office in Sector 1. He said that because his colleagues could not enter the headquarters of the Electoral Office, they were guarding the outside.
“My colleagues stood guard here. We are very attentive to what is happening, to the votes gathered here. The colleagues who were on guard – they were not allowed to enter the sectorial electoral office, even if they were candidates – surprised a man leaving the sectorial electoral office with the record that records the result of the vote count. A lot of records that were brought and we were able to enter because the Gendarmerie was notified, were brought to the Sector 1 City Council. In the same building we have the Electoral Office of the sector, and the department of sanitation of the City Council of Sector 1. We could enter the sense of sanitation and we also found half-completed minutes, elements that clearly showed that it was the headquarters of the campaign, that the votes of each candidate were tracked, bags with electoral bribes ”, declared Clotilde Armand for Digi24.
The USR-PLUS candidate accuses that a public institution was used as a campaign headquarters for a political party and that the minutes of the electoral office, which is based in the same building, had nothing to look for in the sanitation department.
“It just came to our knowledge then. The fact that a public space is used in the interests of the party. There were indications that it was used as the headquarters of the PSD. And there is a big problem with these minutes, and with the almost empty ones, and the complete, sealed, original ones, we do not know if they are minutes that belong to BES and then why they left BES, or if there are minutes that belong to PSD, that is, their copy, and then why did they leave BES to go to the mayor? ”Armand added.
She is still confident in her win over Dan Tudorache.
“The police came, the gendarmerie, they did their investigations. We monitor because we are very careful about fraud. It is clear that mathematics is on our side, the minutes signed by the representatives of USR-PLUS and PNL clearly say that we won. We want to be sure that everything will develop under normal conditions and that the mathematics will be found to the end ”.
PNL and USR-PLUS accuse vote theft in polling stations
In addition to the Sector 1 scandal, a new type of electoral fraud accusation has emerged: vote theft.
Cristian Băcanu, NLP candidate for Mayor of Sector 5, claims that almost 100 votes were stolen from his party in a single section.
“We have evidence that in an electoral college 90 NLP votes were stolen from the town hall. These were passed from the pen to other parties (81 votes to the Roma Party). In the same section, a vote for me was removed.
In total, in this section, we are talking about a huge fraud of 91 votes to the detriment of the National Liberal Party (90 votes in CL and one vote in Mayor, almost 20% of the total votes of CL in that section). If fraud is so high in a single electoral college, it is clear that it is necessary to verify the existence of massive fraud in sector 5. A similar accusation was made by Claudiu Năsui, from USR-PLUS, who claims that in an electoral college the alliance lost 164 votes, which on the AEP website reached an obscure political party.
“Proof USR-PLUS votes are being stolen.
We were curious to check the polling stations where, according to the AEP website, we had zero votes in the Bucharest General Council.
This is the case of article 127. According to the minutes, USR-PLUS obtained the highest number of votes in article: 164. According to the AEP website, it obtained zero votes. You read well. Zero votes. And so 164 votes were stolen from a fire.
Theft: they put the votes of USR-PLUS to another party ”, wrote Năsui on Facebook, where he attached images after the minutes of the section, with 164 votes in favor of USR-PLUS, and after the result shown on the AEP website . , where the Party of the Romanian Nation appears with 164 votes, more than the PSD.
Daniel Tudorache: Clotilde Armand does not understand the Romanian language
Daniel Tudorache, still mayor of Sector 1, rejects Clotilde Armand’s accusations and says he does not know what it is about. He mocked his opponent, saying that he did not understand the Romanian language well.
“To be honest, I don’t know, I heard something vague, but I don’t know. (…) Come on ma’am, I don’t think you understand the Romanian language. He also went to the head of the Electoral Board of the sector, who said that everything is perfectly legal, but he wanted to do his number this afternoon, ”stated Daniel Tudorache on Digi24.
He tried to explain how the minutes filmed by Clotilde Armand reached the town hall.
“He was a hired guy, they were in a bag and that was his workplace. I’m going home or I don’t know where. “
Asked by Digi24 if he defrauded the elections, Tudorache denied:
– No, ma’am, Clotilde is cheating.

And the president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, rejects any accusation of election fraud by the PSD. It states that Daniel Tudorache won the elections and demands the counting of votes in Sector 1.
