After months of rumors and speculation, Samsung has officially announced the new Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note10 Lite smartphones. They are based on the productivity and characteristics of the photos, offering a user experience comparable to that of the best models at a lower price. They’re also outfitted with a new exterior design, which is supposed to be kept in the Galaxy S20 series, to be launched next month.

Galaxy S10 Lite: a cheaper flagship

Samsung’s Galaxy S10 Lite is not much different from the standard Galaxy S10 models, released earlier last year in terms of specs. It is equipped with a 2.8 GHz octa-core chipset, most likely a Snapdragon 855, according to the 1 + 1 + 6 configuration and promised frequencies. It will come in configurations with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Being a dual SIM model, users will be able to choose between using two SIM cards or increasing the storage space with a microSD card.

The 6.7 “Infinity-O display (center perforated) uses a Super AMOLED Plus panel with Full HD + resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) and can display HDR10 + content, like other major models on the market. In terms of cameras We have a 48-megapixel f / 2.0 main camera with “Super Steady OIS” stabilization, an ultra-wide 12-megapixel f / 2.2 camera, and a 5-megapixel f / 2.4 macro camera. The 32-megapixel front camera has an aperture f / 2.2.

Galaxy S10 Lite comes equipped with Android 10 and One UI 2.0 from the factory and will hit the market at the end of the first quarter of 2020, at a starting price of 650 euros.

Galaxy Note10 Lite: a smartphone with a stylus at half the price

Those who think the Note10 and Note10 + are too expensive, but want a smartphone with a more modern design than the Note9, will now have the option to buy a Note10 Lite. The phone benefits from a screen similar to that of the S10 Lite (6.7 “, Super AMOLED and centrally perforated, with Full HD + resolution), and the same dual SIM functionality with the possibility of increasing storage space.

The difference comes in terms of processing power, as the Note10 Lite model is based on the same 10nm octa-core processor found in the Galaxy Note9: Exynos 9810 at 2.7 GHz. It also comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. In fact, the battery capacity is similar between the two new devices: 4,500 mAh with 25W fast charge.

In terms of cameras, the Note10 Lite has a different system. The main 12-megapixel f / 1.7 camera has dual-pixel focus and optical stabilization, while the 12-megapixel f / 2.4 telephoto camera also has optical stabilization. Finally, the Galaxy Note10 Lite benefits from an ultra-wide 16-megapixel f / 2.2 camera. From this point of view, this model seems to be comparable to the Galaxy Note10 and S10 devices in terms of photos, at least on paper.

Of course, the Note10 Lite also comes with an S-Pen stylus, leading to a slightly larger size and weight 12 grams more than the Galaxy S10 Lite (198 grams compared to 186 grams). And this model will be launched before the end of the first quarter, with an initial price of 600 euros.
