Five cases of infection with the new, rapidly spreading strain of coronavirus in the UK have been identified in Japan, writes The Guardian. They are people who have come to the Japanese archipelago in the United Kingdom. They have all been quarantined and Japanese health authorities are trying to identify the route and their contacts.

Japan has already banned people from the UK from entering the country except its own citizens and residents.

So far, Japan has managed to keep the pandemic under control and avoid a large number of Covid-19 cases, unlike Europe and the United States.

However, the daily balance exceeded the threshold of 3,000 illnesses, for the first time in a month.

The discovery of the new Covid-19 strain has caused several states, including Saudi Arabia, to completely close their borders. Others only banned passengers from the UK. Russia is the latest country to blacklist Great Britain.
