One of his daughters is a nurse at the hospital where the tragedy occurred. Felicia Gavrilă experienced the terrible attempt to search for her mother among corpses and charred ruins, shortly after the fire was extinguished.

His confession live on Antena 3, below:

“Yesterday morning I visited my mother, as I have done for a week, since she was hospitalized. I helped her when she was admitted to the surgery department, where I work. When her condition worsened, she was admitted to ATI. The doctors there took good care of her, they gave her the best treatment at that time and her condition was getting worse, but she had started taking it uphill because the treatment was working and was going well. The other day I went to see her in the reserve on the 3rd floor, I spent more time with her, I changed her and helped her take her pills, I had a great time with her, she saw my brothers on whatsup, On a phone wrapped in a bag, I left it with a good oxygen saturation of 95%, yesterday I found it transferred from the 3rd floor, somewhat tired from the transfer. but the doctor told me it was on. My mother was even cared for by the medical hero who tried to save the sick. He is a perfect doctor professionally and took very good care of patients (…) He assured me that he would be fine. I assured my mother that she would be fine, that I would get her out of the hospital alive, and that the treatment would work.

(How did the hospital function during this period?)

The COVID ATI compartment has been moved to the third floor since the beginning of the pandemic. A neurosurgery department was moved to the second floor and a separate circuit was made for COVID patients. We discovered that the 2 ATI patients will move again and the neurosurgery department will return to its original place. I don’t know too many details, I was on vacation, I came back recently.

(How did the hospital function during the pandemic?)

The workload is very high, we stay equipped all the time in overalls (…) Dr. Denciu administered anesthesia several times, since I also had some operations on my back (…) He took good care of my mother, from day one, he gave her the best deal. I promised to take her home alive, I had already ordered her birthday cake (…) Last night I went home to carry some of my luggage, I got off … In less than 10 minutes everything happened. On the way home I heard that there was smoke in the hospital and I came back. To make sure the oxygen my mother doesn’t need so desperately is cut off. I put on my overalls again, I went into my surgery department, it was thick smoke, I got closer and I saw many beds with corpses (…) I ran to the apartment where my mother was and I found the room charred. I searched for the UPU …

(Did you enter the hospital during the fire without being stopped?)

When I entered, the fire was over. “

Tatiana Gavrilă is one of the 10 victims, seven men and three women, between 67 and 86 years old, hospitalized in critical condition in the ATI COVID ward and who lost their lives in the fire on Saturday.

Gavrilă owned a private home for children in distress.

“A mother who had 6 more children. A dedicated, hard-working, faithful woman and above all, A GOOD MAN. She went to the hospital in the prayers of those close to her. Many, everything she had by her side. One of her daughters is a nurse. “All the care of her and her family went there, to the Intensive Care Unit, where she could have left alive and standing.” Sir, now she is there, “the woman’s husband told the media local.
