This weekend an explosion was heard in France, Wales and England. Apparently it was the sound of an extremely rare meteorite, a fireball that crashed into the Bristol Channel.
The Defense Ministry came with clarifications and announced that the noise was not caused by an RAF aircraft, as has happened in the past. See here: The mystery of the powerful EXPLOSION heard in England, revealed. What was the noise that scared millions of people?
According to witnesses, the loud noise was accompanied by a glow in the sky, observed in France, England, Wales and even Jersey. Experts who analyzed the captured images say it was an extremely rare fireball. They point out that the meteorite must have been very large to be observed around 3:00 p.m.
There have been many reactions in northeastern France, of which the data suggests that the fireball slammed into the Bristol Channel. Meteorite hunters say that if the car was bright enough to be seen during the day and substantial enough to cause a sound boom, it likely left debris somewhere on Earth, Sky News writes.
