– Forgive me for telling you, but you seem much more relaxed than I expected in the whirlwind conditions of Dinamo.
– I’m not relaxed, I had two difficult days after the last game in Sepsi, but life goes on, nea Ovidiu, we have to get up and be positive.
– Why do you say it was a harder day?
– I tried to find an explanation, I tried to have discussions with them, individually and in groups, not even the players explained the fall they had after the goal received.
– What did they say?
– The pressure is quite high. Out of the four flops, I had three where I played well. In the first half with UTA we played well, then with FCSB we showed that we can play at a very high level, then with Craiova we played well in the second half, we beat the rival, after a not very good first half and a penalty. There were three games in which we lost undeservedly, we deserved at least one draw. But in Sfântu Gheorghe the pressure of the result intervened, the desire to win was too great, and everything turned against the players, after the goal was scored, they told me that they had mentally fallen first.
– But don’t be angry, you don’t have 19-20 year old players who can’t bear a mental shock.
– It seems that pressure can also reach experienced players. Too fast, right? The beauty of football is that after a bad evolution, as it was with Sepsi, we have the opportunity on Friday to show that it was an accident.
– There is also the option for this whirlwind to come from offices. It is not that you did not have them, although you have not yet moved to Calea Dorobantilor, in a space that belongs to Ciprian Marica, only that the discussions have not ended, I understand that the Spanish have disappeared.
– The offices are almost ready, the contract will be signed in the next few days. The situation in Spain is quite delicate and Pablo Cortacero could not come. He is aware that he is the only one who can unlock the financial situation, the office contract and everything that revolves around the administration. It’s just that it was a bit late and, corroborated by the negative results, a state of tension was created for Dinamo and the team, and for the fans.
– How did you meet them, the Spanish?
– I was in Spain, I was waiting for a commitment, but I had many discussions with teams from the first two leagues there, other coaches were chosen, based on various criteria.
– And Cortacero appeared …
– No, no, Cortacero did not appear, the discussion was with Juan Melero, with whom I worked in Getafe. I was a coach and he was then general manager. He called me and told me that he had a document from Mr. Negoiță to find a buyer for the Dinamo club. And he asked me, took information about the club, if it is worth looking for investors or not. I gave him all the details so that he would probably find a buyer.
– Melero was an intermediary, right?
“He was an intermediary, he found Pablo Cortacero.”
– It doesn’t have any money either, it’s an investment fund …
– I only met him when I arrived in Bucharest to sign for Dinamo. I don’t know if he has money. I even talked about my contract with Juan Melero.
