Dragnea tried to get revenge
On October 31, 2019, the former president of the PSD, Liviu Dragnea, accused the person who had taken office of having committed a fraud with European money while he was a member of the European Parliament.
On June 29, 2019, Viorica Dăncilă replaced Liviu Dragnea at the head of the party, according to the vote in the Extraordinary Congress of the PSD.
Dragnea was already in quarantine in the Rahova penitentiary, being sentenced to 3 and a half years in prison with execution.
He was found guilty because following his orders, when he was in charge of the Teleorman City Council, two people were working “on paper” in Child Protection, they were actually working at PSD Teleorman.
In the attack dedicated to Viorică Dăncilă, Dragnea started from his conviction, wanting to arrive at the need to remove Viorică Dăncilă from the leadership of the PSD.
He claimed that the county party organization PSD Teleorman was also to blame for the fictitious employment of the two people: Adriana Botorogeanu and Anisa Niculina Stoica.
However, PSD Teleorman was not part of the fictitious hiring process, although the two employees actually worked there, while they were “on the documents” at DGASPC Teleorman.
A month after the conviction (May 27, 2019) for the fictitious jobs, those of PSD Teleorman also participated in the election of the new president, a fact that in Dragnea’s opinion would have resulted in the nullity of the entire vote.

Dragnea, Dăncilă and SRI

He noted that Dăncilă had even taken the initiative for an amnesty and pardon ordinance when he was prime minister.
“What bothered me the most? Ms Viorica Dăncilă would often wake up talking about the fact that she would not thank me, one or two, I would not appreciate her.
I was very nervous and wanted to tell her: “Madam candidate, do not talk about how you do not forgive me because I am not going to write a request for forgiveness, because here I am innocent.”
On amnesty and pardons, the first discussion with Ms Dăncilă was in February 2018 in the Prahova Valley.
I was there with the families, it was getting dark, it was snowing and he said: “Mr. President, let’s go out and tell you something.”
She told me that she was determined to grant an amnesty. I said it was fine. He said he wanted to issue that amnesty order. I said, “Viorica, it’s your decisions, but remember I’m not asking you, I’m not pushing, so you can’t talk about pressure.”
A few months later he would come and tell me: “I no longer want to give amnesty.” A few months later he would come and say, “I want an amnesty.”
Dancila washed her hands
In June 2020, Viorica Dăncilă admitted that she had a “four-way” discussion on the version of the emergency ordinance on amnesty and pardon. It was the first time that Dăncilă addressed this issue after Dragnea’s conviction.
“Yes, that meeting took place in four, at the PSD headquarters in Băneasa. Dragnea, Tariceanu, Tudorel Toader and I were present as Prime Minister. I remember perfectly that Mr. Tudorel Toder was asked for amnesty and pardons.
Mr. Dragnea and Tariceanu supported the version of the emergency ordinance on amnesty and pardon. It was a very diligent discussion, in legal terms, between Messrs. Dragnea, Tariceanu and Tudorel Toader.
