The president of the United States is being treated with a cocktail of antibodies produced by Regeneron. Dr. Radu Ţincu says that if efficacy is shown by further studies, this is a treatment for the cause of the disease. The cocktail is not without its risks, according to Mediafax.
The cocktail of synthetic antibodies that President Donald Trump took surprised everyone, especially since this treatment is not in the official anti-Covid schemes in the United States or in Europe.
The president received this cocktail of antibodies because it may be the only treatment that can directly combat the virus’s ability to replicate in the body, which does not cause any other drug to “drop” so far in the fight against Covid.
The results of the preliminary study by Regeneron have shown promise for 275 patients so far, out of a total of 1000 enrolled.
The Regeneron cocktail includes, on the one hand, a monoclonal antibody that targets the spike protein that the virus uses to penetrate healthy cells and, on the other hand, another antibody that targets another part of the coronavirus. With two antibodies, the hope is to stop viral replication, while the body still does not.

However, Trump’s treatment is not without risks.

President Trump has already taken the antiviral Remdesivir, officially approved by the US FDA, but also other substances.
