More than 40 people were fined on Sunday at the protest in Victoriei Square against the new measures taken by the authorities against the spread of Covid-19.

“In accordance with current legal provisions, during the alert state the organization and holding of rallies, demonstrations or any other meeting is allowed, with the participation of a maximum of 100 people. The dialogue teams of the Capital Gendarmerie spoke with the organizers and the people present, in order to inform them about the legal provisions and the measures to be taken in the event of non-compliance with these provisions ”, transmitted the General Directorate of Gendarmes of Bucharest.

We also draw attention to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, generically called “drones”, over public spaces. A person was caught using a device of this type in Victoriei Square, being sanctioned for this act ”, specified the Gendarmerie.

Fines of 7,000 lei

“So far 15 sanctions have been applied, totaling 7,000 lei, for non-compliance with the measures to prevent and combat the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and 29 people have been warned. In addition, specific activities are carried out to identify and punish other people who have violated the provisions of the law, ”said the institution.

“Our objective is not to sanction, but to limit the spread of the virus. For your health and the protection of other citizens, we recommend that you follow the health protection measures. Your health and safety are our priority! ”Concludes the statement from the Bucharest Gendarmerie.
