The refusal of the Republican President of the United States, Donald Trump, to accept defeat in the November 3 election has created a chaotic political landscape in the United States, with the Justice Department backing unproven allegations of voter fraud while cooperating with the Democratic president-elect transition team. Joe Biden is still trapped, EFE writes this Tuesday.
“We are making great progress. The results will begin to arrive next week. We will make America great again,” Donald Trump wrote enigmatically on Twitter Tuesday morning, without details, but thus alluding to his accusations. that the Democrats would have committed fraud in this election with the help of correspondence votes, writes agerpres.ro.

Four years ago, just two days after Donald Trump won the election against Hillary Clinton, he met in the White House with the then-incumbent president, Barack Obama, and began the transition to the new administration, a scene that now it seems impossible.
Faced with this unusual situation, the turmoil within federal institutions also stands out. For example, minutes after US Attorney General William Barr ordered an investigation into the alleged voter fraud, the head of the Justice Department’s Election Crimes Investigation Department, Richard Pilger, resigned. “After familiarizing myself with the new provision and its ramifications …, I unfortunately have to resign as director of the Electoral Crimes Directorate,” Pilger announced in an internal statement leaked to the press.

Additionally, the federal agency in charge of initiating the transition process, the General Services Administration (GSA), has not yet initiated this process. The director of this institution, Emily Murphy, appointed by Trump, suggested that she is first waiting for an official result on the winner of the elections, established for the moment through media projections. Given this situation, Joe Biden’s team warned that it is also examining possible legal actions, in order to determine the GSA to initiate the transition that gives the members of the president-elect’s team access to government information and the possibility of establishing contacts with officials of the federal agency.
The Trump campaign team and the Republican Party have already filed about a dozen complaints, some withdrawn in the meantime, in various federal states alleging irregularities in the electoral process. But even if some of them had a favorable result for the Republican candidate, he could hardly return the result of the elections. To win the election through lawsuits, Trump must revoke the result in several states (Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona) where Biden has been declared the winner or leader while voting continues.

According to the latest media projections, Biden currently has 290 voters in the electoral college, above the threshold of 270 that ensures his arrival at the White House.
