Donald Trump accuses the US Drug Agency of waiting for the elections to pass to announce the Pfizer vaccine, thus putting many lives in danger.
“The Agency for Drugs and Democrats did not want us to have a vaccine before the election, so they made the announcement five days after the election. As I warned all along!” Donald Trump wrote on Tuesday, in a series of tweets.
“As I have said for a long time, Pfizer and others will announce the vaccine only after the election, because they didn’t have the courage to do it before the election. And the Medicines Agency should have announced it earlier, not for political reasons, but to save lives, “the acting president wrote in another message.
The vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech against COVID-19 is 90% effective in preventing infection with the new coronavirus in humans, according to a company announcement earlier this week.
The third phase of Pfizer’s clinical trials (large-scale efficacy and safety tests) involved 43,538 injected participants. They received two doses of immunizer or two doses of placebo, and 90% of the participants were protected from the virus within 28 days of the injection.
