The Timiş Court postponed on Tuesday the ruling regarding the validation of the Timișoara mayor’s mandate won by Dominic Fritz. Several appeals were presented against the validation of the new mayor’s mandate.
„It is sad that Timisoara is among the last county capitals in Romania to have Prhyme validated. I am convinced that the people of Timisoara did not want that “, Fritz said in a post on Facebook.
„Congratulations to my colleague Clotilde Armand, validated today, definitely, as mayor of sector 1, who had to defeat the machinery of the old parties not only in the elections, but also in the Justice. 122 appeals were filed against him, none successful. I am also awaiting the validation of my mandate as Mayor of Timisoara, challenged by three people who reject my right as a European citizen to participate in local elections, enshrined in European treaties, the Romanian Constitution and the law on local elections.“He added, according to Mediafax.
„The court ruling will take place tomorrow. I have no doubt that my right to postulate will be validated again, once my candidacy file is admitted, my victory validated based on this file, and after I registered ex officio in the city’s electoral roll, precisely that I live here “, Fritz added.
