Dacian Cioloș MEP publishes the OLAF report for 2019, a report that looks pretty bad for Romania. Ciolos points out that Romania ranks first in the investigations and recommendations received from OLAF, and therefore accuses the PSD of theft.

“We have the 2019 OLAF report. In case you have any doubts, I want to confirm, once again, that where there should be roads we can put up posters with the names of Nastase, Ponta and the transport ministers of the last 30 years, to remind us why not. we have. Where we could have hospitals, we had to put panels with Ponta or Firea, and where there should be schools, some with Dragnea. We are not a country of thieves, but we are one that has fallen into the hands of thieves. International data only confirms again, if we need it, that their wealth is our poverty. Until we stop voting for the thief, we will only know poverty.
According to OLAF, we are, as a country, in first place in 2019 in investigations and recommendations received. Equally worrisome is the fact that from 2015 to the end of 2019 we are in second place in Europe, after Spain, for possible frauds and irregularities related to the Structural Funds and also second, after Hungary, in terms of investigations of those that resulted in recommendations. Basically, we and Hungary share equally 35% of serious cases of irregularities with European funds in the European Union. Perhaps this is how you understand why PSD leaders have always seen a model in Viktor Orban.
It is also extremely unpleasant that we are present in the OLAF report with many examples of environmental fraud in the last five years. Based on the examples presented in the report, Romania covers fraud in forest protection, aquaculture and waste management. The issues presented perfectly overlap with a number of legitimate concerns of Romanian society.
In these circumstances, I strongly recommend that the Minister of Justice urgently send the number of prosecutors requested by the European prosecutor Laura Codruitadosa Kovesi to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. Any postponement raises serious doubts.
It is very clear that Romanian politics have ignored the demands of the citizens. We could have done so many good things for Romania if lies and impostures had not seduced us. We have new evidence that when we feel that the air is unbreathable in Romania, it is not due to the fact that we would be different from other Europeans. The difference is that we let the thieves rob us more and without fear. Remember how much struggle there was in Romanian politicians when Liviu Dragnea saw his name in the OLAF investigations related to TelDrum and you will understand why everything marked with PSD is tainted with his theft and our pain. Regardless of whether they hide their logo or change it, PSD members are left with shame, with the shame of being a thief ”, writes Dacian Cioloș.
