The latest assessment shows that, from yesterday to today, 4,322 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported, reaching the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic 632,263.

The number of new cases was the result of 21,528 tests, 15,313 according to the case definition and medical protocol and 6,215 on request.

Aside from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 723 people were positively reconfirmed.

Most of the new cases were registered in Bucharest (1,178), where the incidence rate reached 4.1 infected persons per thousand inhabitants. In some cases, the capital is followed by the counties of Cluj (317) and Ilfov (257).

The highest incidence rate remains in Ilfov (4.68). In the red scenario, with values ​​greater than 3, there are also Bucharest, Brașov, Cluj, Constanța and Timiș. The lowest incidence is found in Harghita (0.39).

171 people have died in the last 24 hours

To date, 15,767 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the last 24 hours alone, 171 deaths were reported (100 men and 71 women)

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 1 death in the age category 30 to 39 years, 3 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 13 deaths in the age category age 50 to 59 years, 40 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 54 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 59 deaths in the age group over 80 years.

166 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 4 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

Currently, 9,124 people are hospitalized in the COVID sections of the country. Of these, 1,130 patients are admitted from intensive care to intensive care.
