Representatives of the Elias Hospital in Bucharest announce that 11 members of the medical staff of the Clinical Department of Neurology are infected with the new coronavirus. Thus, the medical unit announces some measures on the activity of the hospital.
Following the detection of several cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections among medical personnel, SUU Elias is taking the following actions:
1. The activity of hospitalization of patients in the Clinical Neurology Department is suspended, where 11 positive employees were detected, for a period of 14 days. Patients who are currently admitted to the ward will be treated until they are discharged or transferred, as appropriate.
2. The activity of the surgical departments and the Postoperative Care Unit is limited to taking charge of surgical emergencies until Monday, October 26, 2020, with the presence of the new coronavirus being noted in 15 of the employees. Non-emergency surgical pathology will be resolved as scheduled after this date. The information may change in the next period, as epidemiological investigations are ongoing and the results of another 64 tests are awaited.
