Several counties in Romania manage to stay on the “green” stage for the next day in a row. Gorj, Harghita, Neamţ, Olt, Sălaj and Suceava are the six counties that register an infection rate of less than 1.5 cases per thousand inhabitants.
The best are Harghita, with an incidence of 0.95, and Gorj, with 0.97. Restaurants and cafes can operate at 50% capacity and indoors, as well as theaters or cinemas.
The small number of cases could also come from the small number of tests performed. In Gorj 4,200 tests are carried out in a month and in Dolj 370 tests per day, since 680,000 inhabitants live in the entire county.
In comparison, in Cluj, one of the highest incidence counties, 3,000 tests are performed in a single day.
The criteria that are taken into account for the quarantine of a locality are an increasing trend of diseases during the last 14 days; infection rate above the alert level (three cases per thousand); insufficient staff to conduct epidemiological investigations;
insufficient medical staff in hospitals providing care to patients; the degree of occupancy of the beds, both in the Covid section and in the ATI.
