A doctor from Iași assures that the disease caused by the SARS CoV-2 virus could be chronic, such as HIV or Hepatitis B. The specialist also assures that, lately, the symptoms of COVID-19 are changing and making it difficult for doctors .
The director of the Hospital for Infectious Diseases Sfânta Cuvioasa Parascheva Iași, Carmen Dorobăţ, found that more and more patients arrive at the hospital with symptoms different from those faced by doctors at the beginning of the epidemic.
It is about the loss of taste and smell, fever and muscle aches that no longer appear or are manifested in the last moments of the disease. In addition, there are patients who remain infected despite receiving treatment, which gives rise to a new hypothesis: the disease could become chronic, as in the cases of HIV and Hepatitis B.
“Covid-19, this disease can become chronic, we do not know if this virus is eliminated from the body and if it does not remain like the HIV virus or the hepatitis B virus.
Covid-19 symptoms. Loss of taste and smell occurs less often and not at first, as it happens, it happens on the road. Or muscle aches appeared in fever after 7-10 days.
We had patients without fever who had direct muscle pain. The moments of appearance on the scene have changed, the same rules are no longer followed, ”said Carmen Dorobăţ, director of the Saint Pious Parascheva Hospital for Infectious Diseases.
Doctors must be very careful
“It is neither bad nor good. Doctors must be very careful. That’s what I said. Especially family doctors must be careful, because we run the risk of becoming polarized.
So the patients end up in a very serious condition, at the moment there is no place for Intensive Care, and I have 20 more places in the confirmed area.
They stay at home, because the law allows it and I fear that I do not pay attention to the symptoms and arrive very late to the hospital, ”Carmen Dorobăţ also specified, according to TVR.
