Coronavirus Romania, August 31. By Monday, August 31, in Romania, 87,540 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) and 3,621 deaths were confirmed.

The new balance indicates 755 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2.

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced Sunday night that the state of alert will be extended in Romania for one more month, starting on September 15.

37,869 patients were declared cured and 10,833 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

As a result of the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 755 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Distinguished from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 183 people were positively reconfirmed.

43 people have died in the last 24 hours

Until today, 3,621 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Of these, 5 deaths were recorded in the age category 50 to 59 years, 10 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 18 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years, and 10 deaths in the age group age over 80 years.

40 of the registered deaths were of patients who presented comorbidities and 3 of the deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,447. Of these, 506 are hospitalized in ATI.

In the last 24 hours, 6,943 tests were processed

To date, 1,802,946 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these 6,943 were performed in the last 24 hours, 4,347 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 2,596 upon request.

Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 370 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until August 31 have been reported.

8,972 people are in solitary confinement at home

In Romania, 8,972 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 5,847 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 32,891 people are in home quarantine and 71 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 645 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 1,278 sanctions for contravention, worth 445,300 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday a crime was found for frustrating the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 12 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 10 deaths in the category of age 70 to 79 years and 12 deaths in the category of over 80 years.

32 of the deaths registered were of some patients who presented comorbidities, 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities and for 5 deceased patients, no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 7,213. Of these, 492 are hospitalized in ATI.

The government allows the resumption of the activity of restaurants and theater venues as of September 1

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban announced this Monday, at the beginning of the Government meeting, that the Executive will adopt a decision that modifies the GD on the state of alert.

Thus, these changes will include all the necessary provisions for the resumption of cultural activities, shows and cinemas as of September 1, 2020.

Orban also announced that the provisions regarding the activity of restaurants and cafes in closed spaces will be modified.

Immediately after the adoption of the Government’s decision and the publication in the Official Gazette, for each field, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Culture must issue today the joint order on health protection standards to be observed with the resumption of activity in the field of culture. And the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy must issue the order on the sanitary protection measures that must be observed in restaurants, cafes ”. – Said the head of government.

The government announced on Tuesday new rules for starting school in pandemic conditions

On Monday, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban called on Health and Education Ministers Nelu Tătaru and Monica Anisie to finalize the order on resuming school activities in pandemic conditions, to be published on Tuesday, September 1.

At the beginning of the government meeting, Orban stressed that there must be a predictability to set in motion “the entire mechanism for preparing schools in good condition.”

“Minister Tătaru and with Minister Anisie, my request is that today you reach an almost final form of the joint order on the resumption of the school, the beginning of the school year and, at the latest, tomorrow morning to have a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister Turcan, so that we can publish the order tomorrow. (…) If you have certain differences of approach on certain issues, together with the Deputy Prime Minister and you, we will make the decision to have it published on Tuesday, so that there is a predictability, so that we can put in place the entire mechanism for preparing schools in good condition, “said Orban, at the beginning of the government meeting, according to Agerpres.
