493,379 patients were declared cured.
After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 5,158 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.
Distinguished from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive 937 people were positively reconfirmed.
How many people have died in the last 24 hours
To Saturday, 14,296 people diagnosed with SARS – CoV – 2 infection died.
Between 18.12.2020 (10:00) and 19.12.2020 (10:00) it was reported 139 deaths (81 men and 58 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Dolj , Galați, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category 0 to 9 years, 2 deaths in the age category 30 to 39 years, 1 death in the age category 40 to 49 years, 13 deaths in the age category of age 50 to 59 years, 36 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 39 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years, and 47 deaths in the age group over 80 years.
137 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 1 deceased patient no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, so far no comorbidities have been reported.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 11,316. Of these, 1,274 are hospitalized in ATI.
How many tests have been performed in the last 24 hours
To date, at the national level, there have been 4,587,552 tests. Of these, 25,788 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 16,650 according to the definition of the case and the medical protocol and 9,138 upon request.
Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 38 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until December 19 have been reported.
On the territory of Romania, 41,757 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at homeand 10,864 people are in institutional isolation. As well, 62,966 people are quarantined at homeand 127 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 3,638 calls to the single emergency number 112 and 1,097 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially to inform citizens.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on December 18 of this year, 6,643 penalties for minor offenses, worth 1,255,330 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, it was found, on Friday, 3 crimes to thwart the fight against disease, deed provided and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 7,036 Romanian citizens were infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 1,938 in Italy, 1,283 in Spain, 167 in Great Britain, 125 in France, 3,085 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 36 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 4 in Sweden, 123 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 11 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 10 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in the United Arab Emirates, 12 in Moldova, 2 in Montenegro and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo, Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt and the Russian Federation. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 128 Romanian citizens abroad, 33 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, they have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.

Counties with the highest number of SARS-CoV-2 infections. In Ilfov, the incidence rate reached 7.15 per thousand
Ilfov County registers a contagion rate for the new coronavirus, accumulated at 14 days, of 7.15 per thousand inhabitants, a high increase compared to the previous day, when it had 6.45 per thousand inhabitants.
In the following places are Bucharest, with 6.57 per thousand inhabitants, down from the previous day, when it was registered with 6.64 per thousand inhabitants, and the county of Constanza, with 6 per thousand inhabitants.
There is also a high incidence of cases per thousand inhabitants in the counties of Braşov – 4.99, Cluj – 4.52 and Timiş – 4.11.
In addition, a low rate of infection with SARS-CoV-2 is recorded in Harghita – 0.78, Gorj – 0.81 and Vrancea – 1.06 counties.
Also in the green zone are the counties of Olt, with an infection rate of 1.09 per thousand inhabitants, Neamţ with 1.36, Sălaj with 1.36 and Suceava with 1.49.
