Coronavirus Romania, August 29. In Romania, 85,833 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) were confirmed.
The widespread epidemic caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes the infection called COVID-19, is an ongoing epidemic in Romania, which has resulted in many victims.
On Saturday, 1,365 new cases were announced from more than 24,000 tests performed.

To date, on August 29, in Romania, 85,833 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.
37,388 patients were declared cured and 10,618 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.
As a result of the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 1,365 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.
Unlike the newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 651 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 3,539 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.
Between 28.08.2020 (10:00) – 29.08.2020 (10:00) were registered 32 deaths (25 men and 7 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramureș, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vrancea and Bucharest.
Of these, 2 deaths were recorded in the age category 40 to 49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 4 deaths in the age category 60 to 69 years, 9 deaths in the age category age 70 to 79 years and 12 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
30 of the registered deaths were of patients who had comorbidities, one deceased patient did not show comorbidities and for one deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 7,225. Of these, 490 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 1,780,963 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these 24,043 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 13,352 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 10,691 upon request.
Quarantine and isolation at home
In Romania, 8,982 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 5,748 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 32,968 people are in home quarantine and 72 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
Calls to 112 and TelVerde
In the last 24 hours, 1,113 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 590 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially to inform the public.
Criminal cases and sanctions
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law No. 55 of 05.15.2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 730 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 152,600 lei.
Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 crimes were found yesterday to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact foreseen and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.
We remind citizens that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to health protection regulations can be notified.
The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified matters.
The situation of Romanians in the diaspora
Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,589 Romanian citizens were infected by COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,898 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 157 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 111 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 19 in Greece , 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic until now, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of the Congo and one in Greece, have died.
Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 338 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
Until Friday, August 28, in Romanian territory, they were confirmed 84,468 cases of people infected by the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

Between 27.08.2020 (10:00) – 28.08.2020 (10:00) were registered 48 deaths (23 men and 25 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Argeș, Brașov, Buzău, Călărași, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova , Sălaj, Satu Mare, Suceava, Timiș, Vrancea and Bucharest.
47 of the registered deaths are of some patients who presented comorbidities, one deceased patient did not present comorbidities.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 7,325. Of these, 497 are hospitalized in ATI.

A 44-year-old doctor from Timişoara died after becoming infected with the new coronavirus.
Dr. Cristian Milicin was intubated for several days in the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital for Infectious Diseases “Victor Babeş” in Timişoara, according to News.ro.
The doctor was infected with the new coronavirus almost three weeks ago, his health deteriorated and, despite the efforts of his colleagues to save him, he died.
The head of the Department of Emergency Situations (DSU), Raed Aradat, said that in the context of the reopening of schools, there is no real danger for children, but the risk is that they transmit the virus when they get home.
The Secretary of State recommended that, to limit the spread of SARS-CoV-2, children should not interact directly with their grandparents.
