Coronavirus in Romania: Less than 6,000 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours / Another 164 deaths in the last day / More than 1,200 patients in serious condition – Coronavirus

Another 5,991 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours in Romania, after 28,191 tests, which means a positive rate of more than 21%. The balance reached 571,749, according to data transmitted this Wednesday by the Strategic Communication Group. Another 164 deaths were recorded on the last day, while 1,267 patients were admitted to intensive care.

To date, on December 16, in Romania, 571,749 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed. 469,499 patients were declared cured.

After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 5,991 new cases.

To date, 13,862 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 15.12.2020 (10:00) and 16.12.2020 (10:00) it was reported 164 deaths (112 men and 52 women).

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age category of 20 to 29 years, 1 death in the age category of 30 to 39 years, 6 deaths in the age category of 40 to 49 years, 12 deaths in the category of age 50 to 59 years, 38 deaths in the age group 60 to 69 years, 60 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years, and 46 deaths in the age group over 80 years.

158 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, for 5 deceased patients no comorbidities were registered and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported so far.

In health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 11,977. Of these, 1,267 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,505,916 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 28,191 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, 17,926 according to the case definition and medical protocol and 10,265 upon request.
Likewise, since the last information made by GCS, the results of 16,410 tests processed before the last 24 hours and delivered until December 16 have been reported.

In Romania, 43,109 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated in their homes and 11,298 people are in institutional isolation. Furthermore, 66,541 people are in home quarantine and 124 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
