Cornelia Catanga was hospitalized at the University of Bucharest Emergency Hospital on Thursday, infected with SARS-CoV-2, in serious condition, brought by an ambulance.
Due to her critical condition and comorbidities, Cornelia Catanga died on Friday morning, around 4 in the afternoon.

Cornelia Catanga was 63 years old and one of the most famous violin singers. She shared the stage for years with her husband, Aurel Pădureanu.
Cornelia Catanga, niece of violinist Maricica Catanga, was born in Zeletin, Cătina, in Buzău county, on March 9, 1958.
In 1979 he sang briefly with Romica Puceanu and in 1985 he had his first show at the Polyvalent Hall (comedy show with musical moments, with Stela Popescu and Alexandru Arşinel). Since 1986 he has toured abroad (especially in Israel, but also in Berlin) and released his first LP in 1989, accompanied by the Ion Onoriu orchestra.
After 1995 he recorded collaborations with Sfinx Experience, Nicu Constantin or Loredana Groza.
