In Romanian hospitals, the situation is not good at all. Hundreds of Romanians are fighting a cruel battle with COVID-19 and doctors are making efforts to keep them alive.
Thus, a doctor from Cluj said that the first case of Covid-19 and influenza was registered in Romania, detected in the same person.
UPDATE ora 11.30 The information was refuted by the management of DSP Gorj, by the INSP, as well as by Professor Alexandru Rafila, director of the Romanian society for microbiology and member of the WHO executive committee.
Initially, Professor Dr. Milena Man, Senior Pulmonologist at Cluj-Napoca Pneumoftiziology Hospital, announced on Pro TV News that the first case of COVID-19 and influenza was detected in Romania, simultaneously detected in the same person.
“The first Covid patient in the country was reported and both Covid infection and influenza virus infection were confirmed. Influenza vaccination should be administered to those at risk, who have comorbidities. Others, only we can … there is no vaccine for the entire population, so in this situation we must see how we protect ourselves, trying to avoid contact with patients who may be infected.“- said Dr. Milena Man Pro TV News.

Unfortunately, the doctor pointed out, in our country there are not enough doses of the flu vaccine, so vaccination must be done especially for social flu that is exposed to a high risk of contagion.
Very difficult during this pandemic is that we cannot distinguish flu symptoms from those that could indicate a Covid-19 infection.
“In summary, we cannot distinguish them from each other. Both flu and Covid infection can look the same. Also, Covid infection can be asymptomatic. Unfortunately, the first case was recorded that, not in Cluj, had both infections. So we cannot differentiate them, when we are asymptomatic, we have to isolate ourselves, wear a mask, maintain our social distance, even at home, if we have symptoms or have been in contact with Covid patients.“- said the chief pulmonologist at the Cluj-Napoca Pneumoftiziology Hospital.
More than 500,000 free doses of flu vaccine will reach family doctors
Until Monday, 500,000 free doses of flu shot will leave the warehouses to family doctors in Romania. Obviously, the paperwork and the transfer itself will take a few days.
Only then will doctors call immunization patients at high risk for complications.
This is long-awaited news. The three new influenza tupines isolated for this season can invade the body simultaneously with Sars-Cov-2.
The flu shot now he doesn’t even find money in pharmacies. Importers’ representatives say Romania has been an incoherent market for manufacturers in recent years.
Now, the demand is huge in every state, but for growers, we are not a priority.
Flu allows co-infections with Sars-Cov-2. There have already been cases in Asia, even in children.
The severity of the symptoms has been observed to increase, because both are respiratory viruses and simultaneously attack the immune system.
