The number of new cases of the Covid-19 disease is on the rise again in the European Union: Several countries are reporting increases in the number of infections greater or similar to those of the early spring pandemic, according to worldometers.info. Romania is in fifth place in terms of the new number of cases of Covid-19 infection, the day our country registered the most recent record, and in terms of deaths, Romania is in second place, after Spain.

The number of new cases is high in almost all parts of the European Union, not just in Romania. On September 16, the day that Romania registered a new record in terms of the number of daily infections since the start of the pandemic, our country ranked fifth in the European Union in terms of the number of infections. Most were registered in Spain (11,193), and in second and third place were France (9784) and the Czech Republic (2136). Before Romania there was also Germany, which reported 2021 cases.

In terms of deaths, however, Romania reached second place on the same date, among the countries of the European Union, with 49 deaths from Covid-19.
