PSD management sources specified for Digi24.ro that the controversial proposals in the PSD list for the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest will be withdrawn. Among those proposed by Gabriela Firea on the CGMB list, forced to resign from the mandate won on September 27, are former Prime Minister Petre Roman and Dumitru Dragomir, former president of the Professional Football League.

In addition, the former coach of the national soccer team, Anghel Iordnăescu, will be removed from the list. Former soccer player Daniel Pancu and coach Cornel Dinu are also resigning as general counsel.

The list is “cleaned” by the PSD leadership, which wants to distance itself from the controversial names that can be found on it. Before the elections, the central leadership decided not to get involved in drawing up the lists.

Gabriela Firea stated during the electoral campaign that she consulted with colleagues from PSD Bucharest regarding the proposals made.

Asked whether the fact that Petre Román is accused of crimes against humanity, in the Mineriada case, is not a problem, Gabriela Firea said that it is not a firm judicial decision.

“Are you condemned, are you in prison? How many people are there at the other parties? For now, Justice is doing its duty and it is good that this happens. In no case do we have a final and irrevocable decision. There are people to whom their right to elect and be elected has not been restricted, ”said the former mayor general.

PSD obtained 21 general advisers after the Sept. 27 vote. Gabriela Firea, who is running for a Senate seat in the December parliamentary elections, will also resign.

According to official BEM data, PSD will have 21 of the 55 councilor seats, followed by USR-PLUS with 17 seats, PNL with 12 seats and PMP with 5 seats. The right-wing parties will have a majority in the Council and the PSD will be in the opposition.
