A Chinese woman accused of killing seven people was tried in southeast China after she managed to hide for more than 20 years, CNN reports.

Lao and Fa had a relationship between 1996 and 1999. After Fa’s arrest, Lao used various pseudonyms to hide from the authorities. He has lived in various cities and has made a living working in bars and other entertainment venues.
He also underwent surgery to change his physical appearance, to avoid arrest, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
Lao was arrested in November last year at a shopping mall in the southeastern city of Xiamen, and was charged with murder, robbery and kidnapping, according to Chinese authorities.
