China directly threatens the United States! Beijing says it will prevent, by any means, an attempt to achieve independence from Taiwan. The communist leadership in Beijing is giving a stern warning to the new Joe Biden administration. Taiwan’s independence “means war.”
China is directly threatening the United States
The harsh warning was given by the spokesman for the Chinese Defense Ministry. Wu Qian said on Thursday that the Chinese military is conducting military operations in the Taiwan Strait. This show of force is a “severe response to the interference of external forces and the challenges of the Taiwanese independence forces.”
“We are seriously telling the independence forces in Taiwan: those who are playing with fire, they will burn, and Taiwan independence means war,” Wu told a news conference.

“The Chinese People’s Liberation Army will take all necessary measures to resolutely oppose any form of separatist attempt to gain independence for Taiwan and firmly defend the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of China.”
Wu’s inflammatory remarks come at an extremely difficult time, the military tension in the Taiwan Strait has increased significantly in recent years.
Beijing sees the island as a separatist province that must rejoin the mainland and has always said that it will never give up the option of military intervention. Beijing opposes any foreign interference in this “China’s domestic business”.

China directly threatens the US, Biden won’t give up
The Chinese are raising the stakes by trying to put the Biden administration on the defensive. Americans, however, do not seem to give up. On Wednesday, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a nominee for the position of US ambassador to the UN, said Washington must help.
At the confirmation hearing in the US Senate, he said that Taiwan is “one of the strongest democracies in the region” and the United States should support it, notes the South China Morning Post.
