CFR Cluj qualified for the Europa League play-off on Thursday night after beating Swedish team Djurgaarden IF 1-0 (0-0) at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm in the third preliminary round of the competition.
CFR prevailed thanks to a goal from defender Paulo Vinicius (55).
CFR will play the play-off (also in a single match) on October 1, at home, with the Finnish team KuPS Kuopio, who defeated Suduva (Lithuania) 2-0 on Thursday.

The Romanian champions put up a solid match, offering the hosts few chances to score and scoring after a fixed phase. The game was one of attrition, with few goal situations, writes Agerpres.
The first notable opportunity was Djokovic’s header (30) over the goal, following a free kick taken by Deac. The Swedish champion had a great opportunity in min. 33, but Bălgrădean parried Kaeck’s shot.
CFR hit the shot after the break, through Vinicius, who headed in after a free kick taken by Deac.
Cluj was able to decide the fate of qualifying faster, but Rondón fired from a 14-meter volley on the crossbar (75).
The Scandinavians had another good chance to score in the min. 82, when Karlstroem’s shot was deflected by Kujovic, but Bălgrădean saved the save.
