President Klaus Iohannis signed the law for the construction of the Northern Highway.
The project foresees the start of the works foryou a high-speed highway on the Vama Petea, Satu Mare, Baia Mare, Dej, Bistrița, Vatra Dornei and Suceava route. The term of execution of the objective is 4 years from the date of entry into force of the law.
Construction work on the Northern Highway would begin on January 1, 2021.
„This objective is financed from the State budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Transport, within the limit of the amounts approved annually for this purpose, with external credits and European funds. The term of execution of the objective is 4 years from the date of entry into force of this law. The provisions of the law enter into force on January 1, 2021“, shown in text lawsI.
Two years ago, the Unirii highway project was adopted, which would link Tărgu Mureș with Iași. Since the law’s approval, authorities have not yet passed the feasibility study stage.
Parliament also has the project for the Southern Highway that connects the Capital with Lugoj.
