Romania U21 qualifies for the final phase of the tournament, after finishing in eighth place in group 8 and obtaining one of the best second positions. The national team led by Adrian mutu is in the urn of third value.

Unprecedented format at EURO 2021 U21
European Youth Championship 2021 has a unique format. Group matches will take place during the period March 24 – 31, while the round of 16 will take place two months later, in the interval May 31 – June 6.
EURO 2021 U21 will be organized by Hungary Y Slovenia, the two formations will be automatically divided into group A and B. respectively.
The draw will begin with the formations in the fourth ballot box and will continue in order until the first ballot box.
- At the previous European Under-21 Championship in 2019, Romania Under-21 reached the semi-finals and qualified for next year’s Olympics. Mirel Rădoi’s selection won the group that also included France, England and Croatia, and in the penultimate act they lost to Germany 2-4.
300,000 euros for qualification to EURO 2021
Romania’s youth team qualified for the second time in a row in an under-21 finals, after 1-1 in the last match, with Denmark leading. It is the first time that Romanian football has achieved such a performance.
The footballers and the squad will distribute 300,000 euros. Adrian Mutu is the one who made the lists, and the money was distributed according to the minutes played. The first are between 17,000 and 500 euros, the last being the one that is delivered to the organizers who did not play anything. Two years ago, Rădoi’s lists they included amounts between 12,500 and 500 euros.
