A woman who really electrified the crowd took the stage located in the Plaza de la Universidad during the protest against the muzzle. There was a roar of applause and the moment was flooded with tears.
At the anti-muzzle protest on Saturday, September 19, 2020, lawyer Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă took the stage to give a speech. Dressed in typical costumes, she said exactly what the angry crowd wanted to hear. And in the end she made a gesture that caused applause.
I was at the protest against the masks, but the speech also referred to Ion Iliescu. It has gone through all the stages of recent history. “Iliescu, you are the greatest tyrant of all time. You started the mess, bastard, and took us to the point where we have no country! We no longer have people, we no longer have children! This is the main culprit and traitor. Now I have come to Iohannis, the biggest traitor of Romania today! “The lawyer’s speech stopped to give way to boos from the crowd at the name of the current president. A few seconds of “Down, Iohannis!”

Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă continued: “Why do you think they will destroy us? Take a look at who has the best inventions in the world! Romanian people! (…) We are people! ”
“Who forbade us to demonstrate ?! A secretary of state, not even a prime minister! Resign, Arafat!” Said the lawyer at the protest. The crowd began to shout the same thing. “I did not think that the people Romanian would accept the slaughter of his own children! “Said Diana Iovanovici-Șoșoacă. Arafat, arrested! Arafat, convicted of bloodshed!” the protesters shouted.
“We are the only opposition, we, the people here!” Stressed the woman. “I came today in a folk costume because I feel, to my bones, that I am a true Romanian,” she added. People chanted her name for minutes.
Finally, the lawyer made a gesture that provoked applause: she burned a protective mask. At one point, she started crying on stage. Before coming down from the stage, she said: “Arafat, may God prevent you from knowing me! Take Iohannis, Anisie, Orban, Tătaru and get out of Romania! “
