It means that the American billionaire has indirect exposure to very important companies for Romania, such as Hidroelectrica, Petrom, Nuclearelectrica. Fondul Proprietatea is a direct shareholder of these companies. Depending on the evolution of these companies, Bill Gates may make money, but he also runs the risk of suffering losses.

The American billionaire also invested in the South African company Naspers, a company that is the majority shareholder of Romania’s largest online retailer – eMag.

Besides eMag, Naspers also owns OLX, Fashion Days or Autovit in Romania.

Bill Gates is 65 years old and has a fortune of almost 150 billion dollars.
