The legislative initiative proposes, in this sense, the completion of article 12 of the Government Emergency Ordinance No. 195/2002 on traffic on public roads.
“The registration plates for pure and hybrid electric vehicles have a varnished reflective background; the letters and numbers, in relief, have the green color for the purely electric ones, respectively the black color for the hybrid electric ones ”, the project foresees.
According to the initiators, the project thus proposes “to highlight environmentally friendly vehicles in traffic by applying differentiated plates, a practice that is found in other European countries or is being implemented.
“The main role of this measure is to sensitize road users about environmental problems and to encourage the transition to clean transport methods, including orientation towards the purchase of electric or hybrid vehicles,” said the initiators in the explanatory memorandum. . .
The bill will first enter the Senate debate and then go to the Chamber of Deputies, which is the decision-making body.
