Approximately 300 believers gathered on Friday afternoon in front of the Iasi Metropolitan Cathedral and protested by renouncing the restrictions imposed by the authorities during the pilgrimage to the relics of Saint Parascheva.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the Regional Committee for Emergency Situations ended, which decided: the established rule is not changed, that until October 15, access to the Cathedral will not be allowed to believers who do not have their domicile in Iași. Only a few exceptions, organizational in nature, were allowed: Archdiocesan staff, Theology students, and volunteers who help organize the feast of Saint Paraskeva.

The protest comes after the Metropolitan Church of Moldavia and Bukovina also demanded the lifting of restrictions on pilgrimages. then who initially told local authorities in Iasi that he was renouncing all events occasioned by the feast of Saint Parascheva.

The protesters demand that non-Iași keep the relics and say their religious freedom is being violated. The Regional Committee for Emergency Situations decided that until October 15, only those who have their address in the bulletin in Iași will be able to pray in the courtyard of the Cathedral.

The protest began, in fact, while a new meeting of the Regional Committee for Emergency Situations was taking place in the Prefecture, in which the request of the Metropolitan Church to eliminate this restriction is analyzed.
