The announcement that focuses on the results obtained by Traian Băsescu (honorary president of the PMP) in the premises was launched this Tuesday by the president of the party, Eugen Tomac.
The PMP leader affirmed that he will request and negotiate the creation of the third position of deputy mayor of the Capital.
We remind you that Tomac expressed this political desire after the PMP and the PNL reached an agreement after which he would create majorities in the country’s city councils, where the situation allows.
In Bucharest the situation is different
In this context, Tomac stated in an RFI intervention that liberals can be convinced of the usefulness of this approach:
“At the moment, we have agreed with the NLP to sign a protocol, through which we commit to create majorities together where there are PMP representatives.
Of course, the situation in the Capital is different. We want to be part of the majority that supports the elected mayor and obviously that in the negotiations that we will have we will ask for the creation of the third position of deputy mayor of the Capital and, why not, that we receive this position.
No, it is not a condition, but we believe that it is much more efficient to have a new position of deputy mayor ”.
Nicusor Dan and Orban follow
In addition, the leader of the Popular Movement Party stressed that the final decision on a new deputy mayor in the Capital Mayor’s Office will be made by the mayor of the Capital and the president of the National Liberal Party:
“The mayor general (Nicusor Dan) and the president of the PNL (Ludovic Orban) have an important word to say in this matter, but we have sufficient arguments to request the creation of this position, which of course we vindicate.”
USR PLUS and PNL elected their deputy mayors
Otherwise, we remind you that the USR PLUS Alliance appointed Vlad Voiculescu to the post of Deputy Mayor of the Capital, while PNL Bucharest decided to nominate Stelian Bujduveanu.
Stelian Bujduveanu, who is the leader of the general councilors of the PNL, told Agerpres that the legislation does not provide for a third post of deputy mayor:
“Unfortunately, the Administrative Code does not provide for a third deputy mayor position. The Administrative Code must be modified. It cannot be configured today.”
