The National Weather Administration (ANM) issued a series of yellow snow and blizzard warnings Tuesday, effective as of Wednesday morning, in mountainous areas of more than half the country.
According to meteorologists, between May 6, 6:00 – May 7, 20:00, in the high mountain area, the wind will intensify with gusts of more than 90 – 100 km / h, and especially in the Carpathians del Sur, especially Wednesday night to Thursday (May 6/7) and during Thursday (May 7), it will blow hard, with speeds of over 110-120 km / h. Temporarily, at altitudes of more than 1,700 meters, precipitation will be reported predominantly in the form of snow and locally there will be a blizzard, and visibility will decrease significantly.
Another Yellow Code warning will be valid during Wednesday, May 6, between 9:00 and 20:00, when in Mehedinţi, Dolj, Olt and Teleorman counties, as well as in southern Gorj and Vâlcea counties , the wind will intensify with gusts of speed generally between 55 and 65 km / h.
A third Yellow Code for unstable weather will take effect between May 6, 12:00 – May 7, 8:00 p.m., and the counties involved are: Satu Mare, Sălaj, Maramureş, Cluj, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Mureş, Harghita , Covasna, Hunedoara, Brasov, Alba and Sibiu. In this area, locally and temporarily, there will be intensifications of the wind with gusting speeds that will generally exceed 55 and 65 km / h.
At the same time, the NMA released on Tuesday information on wind intensifications, moderate quantitative rainfall and mixed precipitation, valid in most regions, between May 5, 3:00 p.m. and May 7, 20: 00.
Therefore, over the next three days, winds will intensify over most of the country, temporarily, with gusting speeds generally more than 45 to 55 km / h. In the mountains, gusts will exceed 60 – 70 km / h and mixed precipitation will be reported. Locally and temporarily, it will rain moderately in quantity and there will be periods with manifestations of atmospheric instability (showers that can also be torrential, electric shocks and isolated hail).
In addition, in short time intervals or by accumulation, the amounts of water will exceed 15-25 l / m2 and occasionally 30 l / m2.
