A 64-year-old woman died after suffering serious health problems and was struck by the indifference of those who should have given her first aid, according to relatives.
The old woman, from Arad, disabled, deaf-mute, complained of pain in her chest. Her husband, also disabled, alerted their daughter and asked her to return home. The woman called 112 and asked for help for her mother.
“I called 112, they transferred me to the rescue and said that my mother was not well. I told him I had chest pains. Then he asked me how long he’s been in this condition. He felt bad from Saturday to Sunday. He had no history of heart problems, ”the woman said, according to aradon.ro.
The victim’s daughter says that no medical equipment was sent home. “From 112 he told me what to give me, he gave me treatment, I wrote it down. I told the 112 doctor that I was in a lot of pain. I asked him if it could be from the heart, if it was serious. I asked if someone could come see her. He said no, they don’t come for that. The 112 doctor didn’t even question that he had a heart attack. “
The ambulance came, they stayed in the parking lot
The woman also rebelled: “They called 112 and said it was an emergency. The ambulance came, then I stayed in the parking lot for about 20 minutes. My mother was in the ambulance. They did an EKG and finally the doctor came out of the ambulance to tell us that the devices showed that she had a heart attack, but she said that to make sure she had to go to the hospital for a blood test.
Upon arrival at Arad hospital, the woman was transferred to Timisoara after a few days. “In Timișoara, they operated on her, they performed the procedure, only she reached a critical condition. My mother was very tired, I lost 3-4 hours, that’s why she died. If the ambulance came when we first called and if we had a doctor in Arad, we would gain 3-4 hours. I don’t want to hurt anyone, but I don’t want it to happen again. She can be anyone’s mother next time. Call the ambulance and they won’t come if you’re sick. “
The director of the Arad County Ambulance Service stated about this case: “We notified each other and started an internal investigation. Is being investigated. The next day we notify each other. We take note of what happened, we will listen to the 112 recordings, we will clarify the situation ”.
“According to the current protocol, patients should be sent to the closest center, in our case to the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases of Timisoara,” said Dr. Adina Pop Moldovan, head of the Clinical Department of Cardiology.
