Asus Announces Z490 Motherboards

[ad_1]

Asus has announced the new line of motherboards for the new 10th generation Intel processors, which will launch in turn this month.

They have implemented the new Z490 chipset and offer support for the new LGA 1200 socket for Intel processors, which comes as a replacement for socket 1151 v2.

A typical Intel implementation, which still lingers when it comes to processors in the 14nm manufacturing process, but also an alert spoiler: We don’t have PCIe Gen 4.0 on the Z490.

However, Intel promises that the new generation has improved a lot, a kind of perfect 14nm. Well, that has been said for years, as they stalled in this manufacturing process.

Ideal for gamers, enthusiasts, and professionals, each Asus and Republic of Gamers Z490 motherboard offers enhancements to take frequencies to the next level.

Tenth generation Intel Core processors offer many threads and high frequencies per core. The Z490 chipset offers multiple next-generation connectivity options, including a built-in WiFi controller, numerous USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB ports, Intel Optane memory, and chipset with RAID support.

Asus OptiMem III’s proprietary technology ensures better signal integrity, and AI Overclocking helps push processor performance to its limits.

ASUS AI Overclocking technology uses a proprietary algorithm to set the optimal frequency and voltage settings for the motherboard, helping users push their processor to the limit with the push of a single button.

ASUS Z490 series motherboards will soon be followed by ASUS and ROG models H470, B460, and H410, offering users more options to suit their needs and budget.

ASUS ROG STRIX Z490-I GAMES

The ROG Strix Z490-I Gaming mini-ITX motherboard features a compact eight-layer PCB for signal integrity and passive heat dissipation and integrates an 8M 2-phase VRM with active cooling for overclocking.

Despite its size, the Strix Z490-I Gaming can accommodate two M.2 devices, which can be placed underneath the radiators, to ensure adequate cooling within the confines of small-format boxes.

There are a total of 13 available USB ports, including three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type A ports and a Type C connector on the rear panel.

Formula Maximus XII

In the upper right corner of the Maximus-XII-Formula motherboard you can find an LED display with POST code and dedicated power on and reset buttons.

Two M.2 slots are located under the radiators in front of the board, with one in the back, and all can be configured in a RAID array for maximum parallel storage performance.

Maximus XII Formula has 10 Gb and 2.5 Gb Ethernet, along with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. There are also many USB ports for connecting peripherals.

ROG Maximus XII Hero (Wi-Fi) offers balanced performance and is more than ready for the requirements of 10th generation Intel Core processors.

Maximum Hero XII

The board can accommodate up to three NVMe storage units, all cooled by dedicated radiators. This motherboard benefits from an Intel WiFi 6 adapter and two Ethernet ports, with one offering speeds of up to 5 Gbps.

Users can take advantage of AI Overclocking to get the best frequencies and voltage settings at the touch of a button, while ASUS OptiMem III paths allow for higher memory frequencies and lower latencies.

Maximus XII Hero (Wi-Fi) incorporates RGB LED accents in camouflaged aesthetics. Users can customize the look of their system with Aura Sync and addressable Gen 2 connectors for RGB LED strips.

ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming

With 14 + 2 power phases, respectively 12 + 2, Strix Z490-E Gaming is ready for easy overclocking of the latest 10th generation Intel Core processors.

This rig has a radiator with a built-in heat pipe to cool the power supply module and a secondary radiator for the Z490 chipset. Its six-layer PCBs and auxiliary ProCool II connectors ensure a stable power supply.

The Strix Z490-E Gaming has an optional fan that can be connected to the VRM radiator for additional cooling during overclocking. Four DIMM slots use a chain topology for the maximum possible frequency and can accept RAM at speeds of 4600 MHz and even more.

Intel I225-V controllers provide basic Ethernet speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps. The Strix Z490-E Gaming integrates WiFi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity, while the Strix Z490-F Gaming has an M.2 E-key slot for an optional WiFi module.

There are two M.2 slots available for NVMe SSDs, these slots are located under the radiator to ensure consistent performance.

A wide range of USB ports can be found on the back panel of both motherboards, the Strix Z490-E Gaming has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connector on the front panel. Super fast Thunderbolt 3 connectivity is also available through the ThunderboltEX 3-TR option board.

Wi-Fi TUF Gaming Z490-Plus

TUF Gaming Z490-Plus has a six-layer PCB for better heat dissipation and signal integrity, as well as a 12 + 2 phase design paired with DrMOS components. ProCool TUF capacitors with high heat tolerance and solid core auxiliary power inputs complete the main supply circuit.

Two PCIe x16 slots are available, one with the ASUS SafeSlot metal-reinforced design. There are two M.2 ports available for NVMe SSDs, one of which is covered by a radiator to keep performance down.

The rear I / O panel includes USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB ports with Type A and Type C connectors and is accompanied by a Gen 2 connector for the front panel. A Thunderbolt 3 connector is available for users who want to add a Thunderbolt EX 3-TR board.

The normal TUF Gaming Z490-Plus has an Intel Gigabit Ethernet controller that includes TUF LanGuard circuits to protect it from electrostatic discharge. TUF Gaming Z490-Plus (WiFi) with wireless connection has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.

The Z490-Plus has a Realtek S1200A audio codec that supports DTS custom surround sound virtualization and can be tailored to specific game genres. Two rows of RGB LEDs along the right side of the board can be customized through Aura Sync.

There are also three LED strip connectors, including a Gen 2 connector, for users looking for additional customization options.
