The head of the Department of Emergency Situations (DSU), Raed Arafat, declared on Saturday, in Târgu Mureş, that at the moment there is no discussion about the closure of some activities or a lockdown, but additional measures will be taken.
“I do not know if it is a state of emergency, but if additional measures must be taken due to the increase in cases, it is possible. We have always said that it is possible that local measures are taken, that zonal measures are intensified, that controls are intensified because this growth must be controlled. (…) No one specifically spoke of a state of emergency or no one said – or at least I did not listen – that a state of emergency would be established. However, some measures should be instituted because some prefectures have begun to institute them, where the number is higher, the incidence is higher, to institute some county, local rules in certain localities and we can expect such measures to increase. (…) At this time there is no discussion of closure or closure, as you say, not at this time“said Raed Arafat.
The head of DSU said that during this period the cooperation of the population is very important, which must respect the rules of distance and hygiene.

The head of DSU also said that viruses and flu do appear in the autumn and that is why it is very important that the population wear a mask and respect the rules of personal hygiene.
“The problem with seasonal flu is that it is combined with the presence of this virus and it is normal for vulnerable people to be vulnerable to both, and that puts their lives in greater danger. From here we insist on prevention and vaccination. However, wear a mask. It also prevents seasonal flu and the risk of contagion, so we return to wearing masks and hygiene, which are more important“said Raed Arafat.
